J. Cede
Prudente, a professional conservationist and photographer has become
part of STG team by showcasing our new section, Photo Safari's that
boast more than 600 carefully selected images from his personal favourite
collection that truly reveals the rich biodiversity and wildlife of
Sabah.
Born in Lahad Datu east of Sabah, Cede
have made Sandakan his home. His passion for nature began in
1990 leading tours to see the wildlife of Kinabatangan, it was
the same time when he was involved in the development of
the first tourist lodge and training of local nature guides in
the area. Conducted specialised tours to various
Zoological groups from the USA and UK, Birdwatching groups.
Coordinated and assist in field of research for Natural History
Film-makers from News Station of Japan, NHK, National
Geographic, BBC, Discovery Channel, TV New Zealand, renown
Wildllife Photographers among others.
His continuous support to nature
conservation gave him the opportunity to lead a project called
Partners for Wetlands, initiated by World Wide Fund (WWF)
Malaysia in 1998-2001. The overall goal was to seize the
opportunities for wetland management, conservation and
restoration of the Lower Kinabatanagan floodplains in working
together with the various Government agencies, Oil palm sector,
the Tour operators and the local community around the
Kinabatangan floodplains.
In May 2000, WWF Netherlands and WWF
Malaysia conducted a joint Wildlife Photographic Exhibition
showcasing his work, held in the Naturalis Museum in Leiden, the
Netherlands. The objective is to raise funds and public
awareness for the conservation projects in Kinabatangan
floodplains.
His pictures are frequently used in
advertising, and widely published in books, magazine and
Malaysian tourism promotional materials.
Travelled extensively around Asian region
particularly in Nepal, Japan, Australia and the South East Asia.
In year 2000, conducted study trip and meeting in the Wetland
Region in Danube Delta, Ukraine and The Netherlands.

This section will be updated with travelogues and expeditions journals
periodically. Captions and description of photographs will be
completed by next month detailing on where, how the images were
captured on camera. We at STG hopes you enjoy this section and

Safari Photo Safari
section is a collection of images of Sabah with a initial photo bank
of more than 600 images. To date, this collection is the
most comprehensive photographic images of Borneo available for online
viewing and we hope visitor can get a real feeling of the wonders of
what Sabah truly has to offer.
STG also hopes to raise
awareness and educate both international and local Malaysians on
the need to preserve and protect our natural and wildlife heritage for
the future generations to come. A new section will be
launch soon where visitors can purchase online, posters, prints
or digital
downloads for professional use. Part of the proceeds of the
sale will be donated for conservation projects.
